1/5 cup (50 ml) fresh breadcrumbs
1/5 cup (50 ml) milk
250g minced beef
2 leeks, chopped
2 Tbsp (30 ml) prepared mustard
1/5 cup (50 ml) Cheddar cheese, grated
a pinch (2 ml) salt
5 rashers of bacon, halved

  1. Soak the breadcrumbs in the milk.  Lightly mix all the ingredients except the bacon.  Shape the mixture into 10 fricadels and wrap each fricadels in a piece of bacon.  Place the fricadels in a single layer on a rack in a shallow dish.  Microwave the fricadels at 100% power for approximately 3 minutes.  Serve with mashed potatoes and green peas.
